Sesuai dengan pesantren beliau yang diberi nama Darul Hadits. Ada referensinya. Syairawaih menyebutkan dalam Tarikhnya bahwa Ia termasuk ahli hadis, terpercaya, hafidz, dan agamis. Ia tidak takut celaan orang lain dalam agama Allah. Ia punya banyak karya kitab. Meninggal pada 384 H.
