Ketika itu Mbah Moen masih kecil, sedangkan adik-adiknya meninggal semua. Mbah Mad (Ahmad bin Syuaib) sebagai mertua dan pamannya Kiai Zubair merasa terpukul dan sedih dengan musibah ini.<\/p>\n<p>Semenjak Mbah Moen kecil ditinggal wafat sang ibu, Mbah Mad tampil sebagai sosok yang menggantikan. Ya, meskipun tidak bisa menggantikan sepenuhnya. Mbah mad ikut merawat dan membantu pendidikan Mbah Moen hingga sampai belajar di haramain, bahkan sampai urusan nikahnya dengan Nyai Fahimah itu tidak bisa dilepaskan dari peran utama Mbah Mad.<\/p>\n<p>Saking sayangnya Mbah Mad kepada Mbah Moen, jika beliau sedang kondangan di kampung, apabila mendapatkan berkat(bingkisan) cuma satu, maka anak-anak beliau dilarang mendudahnya (menikmatinya) terlebih dahulu, nunggu cucunya tersebut.
